JUDGING CRITERIA

TeenJudging Criteria
INTERVIEW (25%) - Each contestant completes a private 10 minute interview with the judges. Each contestant will introduce herself and judges will begin with questioning. Each contestant will have 9 ½ minutes of Q&A discussion and will conclude with a 30 second closing statement. Dress as you would for a business interview. Be contemporary!

Fitness Competition (15%) -

EVENING WEAR (20%) - Contestants may wear an evening wear outfit of her choice. Evening wear may be pants or an evening gown.

ON-STAGE QUESTION (5%) - Contestants will be judged on their responses to one general on stage question. Contestants will wear interview attire for this portion of competition.

TALENT (35%) - TIME LENGTH: Talent cannot exceed 1 1/2 minutes. CDs ONLY.... The time length will be strictly regulated. Each CD should contain only the one selection that has been chosen for talent. We are unable to cut or fade CDs. Each CD should have the contestant’s name on the CD. A master CD will be developed which contains each talent selection as well as production music. The CD will not be returned until after the pageant. You should retain another CD to use for practice.

TALENT BACKGROUND ENHANCEMENTS - Regardless of the talent performed, the background CD cannot have voices, instrumentation, or other noises, which mimic the talent of the contestant. (Example: A vocalist may have background vocals with “oohs and aahs” or other background lyrics, but cannot have a CD with a voice singing the melody line. The same would be said for instrumentalist, dancers, and any other talent,
which could provide for an unfair advantage if a judge could not delineate from the talent on the track versus the live perforce of the contestant.
